Zenobia’s story has been turned into movies, plays, and musicals
all over the country and of course everyone has a different take on her life.
In the book series by Russ Wallace, I like his point of view on what motivated
a young girl to take on so much. Someday you'll be able to watch the film
adaptation of the novel on the big screen. Until then, we'll have to be happy
with the advertisement on December 13th at the Gilbert, AZ San Tan Village
Harkins prescreening of the Hobbit. Also, Les Miserables which will be released
on Dec 25th. For a special prescreening you can watch it on Dec 19th. The
proceeds go to a family in need. Not only do you get to see a great movie early
but you'll be helping a family for Christmas. Email prescreensby2huns@yahoo.com to get
your tickets before they sell out. They still have Hobbit tickets available for
the December 13th showing. These movies are a perfect early gift, date night
with someone special, or a company holiday party.
A beautiful actress/singer Carol Samaha played Zenobia in the
musical in 2007. I didn’t get to see the musical live but was able to watch
some YouTube performances and think she nailed the part of Zenobia. The music
sounded wonderful and Carol Samaha has a gorgeous voice. Who cares that I
didn’t understand a word she said. Check out her website at http://www.carolesamaha.com/; like
her on facebook https://www.facebook.com/carolesamaha?ref=stream ; follow
her on twitter; www.twitter.com/CAROLE_SAMAHA ; and
check out her music videos on YouTube www.youtube.com/carolesamahaworld
“The musical 'Zenobia' played in Lebanon, after enjoying a great
success in Dubai. It's a story about the last Queen of Palmyra who, in the
third century, challenged the Roman Empire.” (Report: Lynn Tehini http://www.france24.com/en/)
Coming in the summer of 2013 is another Zenobia musical playing in Chicagoland. Here’s a sneak peak -
This is
a promotional video for the original musical, "Zenobia," being
premiered in Bolingbrook, IL in 2013 by Theatre-on-the-Hill, a not-for-profit
community theatre. Book and lyrics by Lorrisa Julianus, music by Angela
Salvaggione. If you are interested in participating in any capacity or
attending, please contact us at www.tothbolingbrook.com.
